Back to work
Last Wednesday, I started back to work. I'm still at the same Mothers' Day Out program, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:45am-2:15pm. Instead of teaching the younger three year olds with Ms. Rose, I'll be teaching the older three year olds with Ms. Terry. Carli's class this year is the younger three year olds, so I can't be her teacher, so I switched classes. Classes haven't started yet. They start September 9th. We've just been working already for orientation, training, and getting our classrooms ready. I'm looking forward to this school year. All of the girls I work with are so fun and I know Carli will really enjoy her teachers and friends.

Great lil' companion!
During tax fee weekend, I felt the need to shop. The kids' back to school stuff was already bought, but I still wanted to check for any deals. I took my best lil' shopper. She loves shopping! She's so good when we go places. After a few stores, we bought a cookie and a drink and sat outside while we listened to a band sing country music.Once the boys' were at school, we went out for our annual, "Boys' back to school breakfast!" In a couple of years, it'll have to be changed to "kids". She's a great lil' companion!

First day of school
August 24, 2009 wasBehold, we have an 8th grader:
Austin was super excited about starting back to school. He said he couldn't wait to see his teachers again! He went to bed at 7pm on Sunday night, if that tells you anything! He rides the special transportation school bus, which he loves! It picks him up right outside our front door! FYI: His school is right across the street from our neighborhood. :) He rode the bus on the first day of school! Our junior high schools here are 7th and 8th grades. He would be going on to 9th, but we kept him there one more year, instead of sending him to the high school. The Special Education program at the high school is pretty large. The Life Skills kids are more independent than Austin is right now. We want to give him one more year of growth and (praying) better seizure control.
And LOOK, we have a 6th grader too:
This will be Tyler's last year in Middle School. If you know Tyler, then you know he was not too sure about starting back to school. It took him a while to fall asleep the night before. He is my big worrier! But he's a really good student and kid, so he shouldn't worry!

Awww, what's wrong with my Tyler? He was going to ride the bus to school his first day....but... he...missed it!! Tyler wasn't running late, he was actually right on time, obviously the bus was too! Tyler was half way down our street and saw the bus cruise on by! So, he turned around, came in and I took him! Yah, he had to be dropped off...not cool to him! I don't think I had even came to a complete stop before he got out!

Good bye summer!
This is our last official day of summer, because Monday, the boys are BUMMER!
We've had a pretty good sumer. Lots of fun!
We're takin' it easy this weekend. We were going to visit the Gonzales family in Dallas, but last minute, changed our plans. Wednesday (I think it was?), Austin had a really bad day with seizures! Thursday he wasn't having any more seizures, but still was not quite himself. Very tired and slow to speak. So, we thought it was best if we just had a low key weekend for him. We need him well rested for Monday!
I have all of their back to school stuff ready to go. Are we mentally ready though? I know Austin wants to go back, Tyler? Not quite. He's squeezed every ounce of fun that he can. Movies, swimming, sleep overs, games, eating out, staying up as late as possible and sleeping in as late as possible. In fact, he's got two friends over now. Me? NO! The kids actually have been pretty good for the most part and I've enjoyed not having a routine. Oh well, all good things must come to an end! No, I have a feeling we all will have a great school year!

Drawing
Carli loves to draw. The boys do too. They can sit and draw all day long. Each boy has their own spiral notebook filled with drawings. Carli, not so organized. She has little pieces of paper with drawings on them, all over the house. And forget crayons. This girl's gotta use a PEN or PENCIL! Sometimes a marker.
Her little creation. A picture of Ms. Rose. It changed a couple of times. First it was Ms. Rose's cat, Pumpkin. I did hand deliver it to Ms. Rose that night when I saw her.
Check out the video. Remember to scroll down to the bottom of my blog and pause the music. Scroll back up here and press play. Try to ignore the background noise of my cell phone ringing, oven timer going off, and Tyler asking, "What are we eating?". That's life!

Austin Update
Update. A quick one, because for the first time in a long time, there's not a lot going on.
Austin has been on his new medication for his seizures since the end of May.
He USE to have seizures once a week. Sometimes two weeks. On that day of the week, he would have 5,6, sometimes more seizures. Horrible!
With this new medicine, and thanks be to God, he's gone ONE MONTH without any seizures! Over a week ago he had a pretty rough day with seizures. It was so strange because Anthony and I actually had to think when the last time was that he had a seizure. We had never gone a month without a seizure! We had actually gotten relaxed about not having to worry about it. So that day really took alot out of all of us. The next day he was pretty sleepy. He's been fine ever since. We have an appointment soon to go over his testing. I'll update then, hopefully not sooner... :)

Change
I needed to change my blog look.
I'm having a hard time realizing that summer is coming to an end and that in 11 days, school is starting! I haven't done any back to school shopping. So, hopefully, with a change in my blog look, to make it more school-ish looking, it'll help get me in the zone.
New posts coming soon!

Oh this girl!
This morning Carli was suppose to be brushing her teeth, instead she was doing this:After lunch and a surprise visit to Daddy's bank, we came home. I pulled into the garage, turned around and saw this:She had put on MY LIP GLOSS that was in HER PURSE!
Here she is eating some chips and dip. I was trying to get a good picture of her forehead:
Because she had a big 'ol bump on it! She was running through the kitchen with a blanket over her and she tripped and landed on her forehead.
Yesterday, she brought me her toy computer and said, "My Princess Barbie computer needs batteries cause there's no Face book!" WHAT? REALLY?

Spring Cleaning? But it's summer?
Well, I've been doing some spring cleaning...I know it's summer, but I mean, the kind of deep cleaning/organizing associated with spring cleaning.
I did some of these things before school got out, but have felt the need to do one now, along with some odds and ends. To get a fresh start to the upcomming school year. Besides my normal house cleaning, this was my list.
To do's:
1. Garage sale. This was way needed!
2. Clean/organize the following:
Garage, attic, kitchen cabinets and drawers, bathrooms' cabinets and drawers, closets.
3. Touch up knicks on walls. Every room.
4. Touch up baseboards. Every room.
5. Finally repair this.
6. Dust the ceiling fans and air vents.
7. Carpets cleaned next week.
WHEW...I'M DONE! I just did a little bit each day, so it wasn't bad! I feel so much better! YAY ME!

Weekend wrap-up!
Blogger was not my friend when uploading pictures and video for this post! I think I might have to start using my Microsoft Live Writer to do my posts.
Anyway, let's start with Sunday, when we went to a birthday party. Chris and Dominic, brothers, have their birthday within a couple of weeks of each other, so they did a joint party at the pool. This would be the only picture I have of the party...my camera died and I had nowhere to charge it. The party was fun-lots of swimming!
Saturday was an at home day. I had lots of odds and ends to do around the house.
Friday night, we went over to our friend's house for some pizza and Rockband.
Dominic & Chris
Elijah, Austin, Carli
Jenessa
This is their youngest son, Elijah, who is like the Energizer bunny! Although here, he was like a little monkey!
Scroll down to the bottom of the page to pause my music and then come back up here to watch this video of my precious Tyler singing!
